My boundless heartfelt thanks to the many people who encouraged, enabled, prodded, and provoked me to make this record.  The list is very long... too long to print.

Yet I can't in good conscience sign off without expressing my profound gratitude to Christine Brandt, Sue Hermann, Kathy Fanning and Bob Tomasetti, Laura and Ned Gardner, Joe and Donna Cassidy, the entire Philip Jacobs family, Craig Spinney and Molly O'Brien, Pat and Gay Morrisey, Peter Erichsen and David Palumb, Mark Nuccio, Susan Johnston - who all served as members, willingly or not, of my focus group.  You endured my meandering accounts of the production process as well as the continuous playback of working versions of these tunes as they took shape.  Not once was I asked to give it up!

Lief Sannen lit a fire under my arse... thanks Lief... sorry about the extra year!

All the best in the world to the one and only Karl-Heinz Haydl, the good Swabian of Munich and Tegernsee by way of Stuttgart.  He and Kurt Nürnberger make sure my music is heard on the autobahns of Bavaria.

A thundering shout out halfway around the world to Graeme Barns of Melbourne, Australia, and a very special transatlantic raising of my glass to Chris Needham of Leeds, England.

Thanks a boat load to all our good pals at the River Cat Grill, who keep Joni and me, Chuck, and the rest of Rowayton fed and watered.

To all my friends back in North Carolina... the guys at the Music Loft, the men of the club otherwise known as Cat Baby!, the very missed and irreplaceable crowd at the Dead Mule Club, the pillars of society at He's Not Here (who have yet to realize I'm NOT there), and my family of friends on Terrell's Mountain in North Chatham... Andy says "hey!"

Several of my musician buddies have always been especially helpful... Tony Bowman, Kenny Soule, Jeffrey Lee Campbell, Jim Henderson, Todd Addison.

All my love goes out to my family - my mother Martha, my sisters Kim Church and Marty Hargrave, brothers-in-law Anthony Ulinski (www.anthonyulinski.com) and W. T.  "Boo" Hargrave, and our brightest hope, Morgan Hargrave.  They've known me forever, and they still answer the phone when I call!

A nod and a prayer to my departed father Max, who took me shopping for a bass guitar before I knew such a thing existed.

Joni's family has unconditionally taken me in as one of their own (although technically I already was), and they have my deep affection and devotion.  Thanks to Mayor John T. Walser, Jr, and the first lady of Lexington, Sylvia, aka "Sunshine," sister Becky and her husband Miller Abernethy, and their lovely daughters, Margaret and Anna, whom we consider our very own.

And finally, to Joni, for whom I didn't even know (or dare) to wish...

...You'll never listen to music the same way again!
